How to choose an AI video translator

AI video translation tools differ more than their landing pages suggest. These are the questions worth asking before you upload a video, with Dubnivo's own answers so you can compare like for like.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add your video

Upload a video file, or paste a public link from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X or Twitch.

  2. 02

    Pick the languages

Choose the language spoken in the video and the language to dub into.

  3. 03

    Download the dub

Dubnivo transcribes, translates and re-voices the video in natural AI voices, a matching one for each speaker, then gives you an MP4 to download.

1. Whose voice will viewers hear?

Some tools speak the translation with a stock narrator. Others match the voice to the person in the video. Dubnivo gives each speaker a natural AI voice close to theirs, copies a speaker's own voice only when asked and with their consent, and when several people talk, each gets a separate voice.

2. Which languages, in and out?

Check both lists: the languages it can understand and the languages it can speak. Dubnivo dubs into 17 languages from 29 spoken languages, including English, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German and Portuguese.

3. Can you fix the translation before it is spoken?

Names, product terms and jokes are where machine translation slips. Look for a way to read and correct the lines first. Dubnivo can stop after translating so you edit any line, and a finished dub can be corrected and dubbed again.

4. What do you get back?

You want a normal video file plus subtitles you can reuse. Dubnivo returns an MP4 and SRT or VTT subtitles in both languages, and lets you keep the video's music and background sound under the new voice or drop it.

5. Lip sync: ask what is really included

Lip sync is not available yet: the dubbed lines are timed to the original speech, but mouth movements in the picture are not changed. Ask any tool the same question, and which plans and lengths it covers.

6. The real price per minute

Compare the cost of the minutes you will actually dub, not the plan name. Dubnivo's prices are public: a free plan, monthly plans from $4.99, and pay as you go at $0.05 a minute with no subscription. A video that fails uses none of your minutes.

7. Limits and privacy

Check the longest video and largest file allowed, and how long your files are kept. Dubnivo takes videos up to 60 minutes on its larger plans and deletes the files automatically after the plan's storage period (3 days on Free, up to 30 days on Premium).

Questions

What is the best AI video translator?

The best one is the one whose voices, languages, editing and price fit your videos. Try each with the same short clip: listen to the voice, read the translation and check what one minute really costs. Dubnivo lets you try 1 video without an account and 5 a month free.

Is there a free AI video translator?

You can try 1 video of up to 1 minute without an account. The Free plan dubs 5 videos a month, up to 2 minutes each, with a small watermark. Pro is $4.99 a month for 300 minutes of video, up to 30 minutes per video, with no watermark. Premium is $19.99 a month for 1,000 minutes of video, up to 60 minutes per video, served ahead of Pro. Platinum is $49.99 a month for 3,000 minutes, first in the queue. A first paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial that includes 30 minutes of dubbing. A video that fails uses none of your minutes. Without a subscription, pay as you go costs $0.05 per minute of video, with no watermark, and bought minutes do not expire.

Do AI video translators change the picture?

Dubnivo replaces the audio and leaves the picture as it is; the Free plan adds a small watermark. Lip sync is not available yet: the dubbed lines are timed to the original speech, but mouth movements in the picture are not changed.
